2. Information We Collect

- Academic Data: Student grade level, learning objectives, homework, and progress notes.
- Session Data: Audio/video and recordings of live sessions (see “Class Recordings” below).
- Payment Data: Billing details and transaction identifiers required to issue valid tax invoices. We do not store card numbers or bank credentials.
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns on our website.
3. Lawful Basis & Consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consentand where processing is necessary to perform our tutoring agreement with you. Consent is obtained at the point of enrolment and, where required, through clear opt-in.

Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, and may mean we can no longer provide certain services. For EU/UK users, our lawful bases correspond to Article 6 of the GDPR (consent and contractual necessity).
4. Children's Data & Parental Consent
Many of our students are children (under the age of 18). Where a student is below the age of 18, or below the local age of digital consent, the account must be created, and all consent (including consent to session recording and to keeping cameras on) must be provided, by a parent or legal guardian.
- We process a child's personal data only with verifiable parental or guardian consent, in line with Section 9 of the DPDP Act and Article 8 of the GDPR.
- We do not carry out behavioural tracking, profiling, or targeted advertising directed at children.
- We do not knowingly process a child's data in any manner likely to cause a detrimental effect on their wellbeing.
If you believe a child's data has been provided to us without appropriate guardian consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
5. How We Process Your Data
Your data is processed to provide a seamless educational experience through our primary partners:
- Microsoft Teams: We use Microsoft Teams for delivering live 1-to-1 sessions. Data transmitted during sessions (audio/video) is processed by Microsoft in accordance with their privacy standards.
- Razorpay: Online financial transactions are handled by Razorpay. We do not store credit card or bank login credentials on our servers.
- Direct Bank Transfer: For manual transfers, we process transaction IDs and billing details to issue valid tax invoices.
6. Use of Information
We use the information we collect to manage your tutoring schedule, process payments for GST compliance, and communicate administrative updates. We also utilise session recordings exclusively for internal quality control and as a revision resource for the student.
9. International Data Transfers
Because we use service providers such as Microsoft and Razorpay, your personal data may be processed or stored on servers located outside India or outside your country of residence. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by these providers and process such transfers in accordance with the DPDP Act and, for EU/UK users, Chapter V of the GDPR.
10. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Session recordings are retained for a period of 10 days, after which they are deleted. Financial records are retained for the period required under Indian tax law. You may request earlier deletion subject to our legal obligations.
11. Data Security
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. All academic records and session links are restricted to authorised personnel and the specific student/parent associated with the account.
12. Personal Data Breach
In the event of a personal data breach that affects your information, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users without undue delay, as required by Section 8(6) of the DPDP Act (and, where applicable, the GDPR breach-notification rules).

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

- Correct, complete, or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure of your personal data;
- Withdraw consent and opt out of session recordings;
- Raise a complaint or request redressal with us;
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
