We help maths feel less mysterious.
The Complete Equation is built around focused 1:1 maths tutoring: careful diagnosis, patient explanation, and practice that stays close to the student's real curriculum. Our goal is simple: help students understand what they are doing, why it works, and how to do it with confidence.

What we care about
Our story
A tutoring service shaped by the lessons students actually need.
The Complete Equation began with a simple observation. Many students do not dislike maths, they dislike feeling lost in it.
One unclear chapter can turn into a pattern of guessing. A rushed class can make a capable student feel behind. We wanted to build a place where students could slow the work down, ask the question they skipped in school, and build on the concepts.
What started as one tutor helping students ask better questions and rebuild confidence has grown into an online tutoring service for students across school systems, exam boards, and time zones.
Our work is still deliberately personal. We match students with tutors who can teach the subject, read the hesitation, and adjust the explanation before frustration takes over.
That is the heart of The Complete Equation. Careful teaching that helps a student leave each lesson a little clearer, steadier, and more willing to try the next problem.
The people behind the equation.
Every lesson is supported by a team that believes great learning comes from the right people, the right guidance, and a commitment to every student's growth.

Our standard
The habits behind every good lesson.
We Start With the Student's Work
Recent tests, homework, class notes, and half-finished attempts tell us more than any generic placement quiz ever could.
We Teach for Recall
A good lesson ends with the student explaining the method back, not just nodding along while the tutor solves it.
We Leave Clear Next Steps
Each class leaves a short trail: what was covered, what to practise, and what to check next time.
We Keep the Standard High
Before they work with families, tutors are reviewed for subject depth, teaching clarity, communication, and consistency.
Why choose us
How we compare
See how 1:1 online tutoring with The Complete Equation stacks up against marketplace platforms like Preply and local in-person tuition.
Comparison reflects publicly available information about online marketplace platforms such as Preply and typical local in-person tutoring; specific features vary by provider and individual tutor.
How we teach
The process is simple, but not generic.
Every student comes in with a different mix of gaps, habits, deadlines, and confidence. The lesson plan should respond to that, not flatten it.
- 01
Find the Gap
We look at the actual topic, mistakes, and confidence level before deciding how to teach.
- 02
Build the Method
The tutor models the thinking, then asks the student to repeat and adapt it on fresh problems.
- 03
Make Progress Visible
Students leave with practice work, lesson notes, and a clearer sense of what improved.
In numbers
Small enough to stay personal. Experienced enough to be trusted.
We keep the model focused: thoughtful tutor matching, live teaching, and visible progress after every class.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your tutors qualified teachers?
Our tutors are experienced teachers, not just subject experts. Before working with families, every tutor is reviewed for subject depth, teaching clarity, communication, and consistency.
How do I track my child's progress?
You'll receive monthly progress reports and optional parent-teacher meetings to discuss academic improvements and goals.
Can parents sit in on sessions?
Absolutely, parents are welcome to join the first few sessions to see how the tutor works. After that, we ask that the live lesson stay focused on the student, with any feedback shared after class.
Are sessions recorded, and can we rewatch them?
Yes, sessions are recorded for quality assurance and so students can use them for revision. Recordings are used only for educational purposes, are never shared with third parties without permission, and stay available for the duration of your subscription.
